Kashmir’s Magnificent Golf Courses

Kashmir Golf Club, Srinagar :

The Kashmir Golf Club is the oldest Golf course of Kashmir valley built in 1887 by the British. This 18 hole par 70 golf course, flanked by mighty Chinar and poplar trees on all sides has recently been revamped. Spread over 52 acres of verdant land, it sits like a serene oasis in the hustle of the city having been venue for numerous tournaments in its entire history.

Royal Springs Golf Course, Srinagar :

Situated near the famous Mughal Garden, Cheshma-Shahi, The Royal Spring Golf sprawls across an area of 300 acres and overlooks the charming Dal Lake and the majestic Zabarwan hills. Robert Trent Jones Jr. II designed this beautiful 18 hole par 72 golf course.

Lidder Valley Golf Course, Pahalgam :

The Lidder Valley Golf Course, Pahalgam will take your breath away with its sheer beauty and design. Set in the pretty town of Pahalgam and surrounded by soaring, fir-covered mountains with bare, snow-capped peaks rising behind them, the course is set in a large bowl shaped expanse at an altitude of 2150 mtrs.

Gulmarg Golf Course

Gulmarg Golf Course is the highest green golf course in the world. The 18-hole course is a stern test for golfers. The greens have been designed to merge into the natural landscape with undulations and contours merging with t0he surrounding areas. The grass on the greens is imported from the United States. It is one of the finest summer golfing destinations in the world.

New Delhi/ NCR

CLASSIC GOLF RESORT (CGR) :

CLASSIC GOLF RESORT (CGR), is the first South Asian Signature Championship golf course designed by the legend Jack Nicklaus. The resort has been built on a 300 acres expanse at the foothills of the picturesque Aravallis, on the outskirts of India’s national Capital, New Delhi. The golf course comprises a par 72, 18-hole, 7114-yard signature championship course, and a par 36, 9-hole course of 3135 yards, a social club and sports complex, which offers various sports activities.
Challenges exist in the form of bunkers and water hazards, which give all levels of golfers an opportunity to hone their mental and physical agility.

GOLDEN GREENS GOLF CLUB :

Golden Greens is a golf course designed by two Great names – DR Martin Hawtree and the Aravalli hills. As an artist uses clay, Hawtree, has sculpted a championship course in the finest “Links” tradition. This 18-hole, par 72, 7100 yards championship course is replete with strategically placed bunkers on meandering fairways which look like olive green crumpled blankets. Spread over 275 acres of land in the National Capital Region of Delhi – Gurgaon, it is just 25 km from the international airport.
The first and only one of its kind in India, at the Golden Greens, the emphasis has been to create a golf course which looks a part of its natural surroundings. Wind swept dunes and the native scrub found in the Aravallis hills, deep pot bunkers, cleverly contoured greens which demand precise play and strategic placing of shots is the key to successfully negotiating this course. A challenge that tests the skills levels of all level of golfers ranging form the professional to the high handicappers. The course blends with the natural surroundings and provides an exceptional experience not to be found on any other course in this region.

QUTUB GOLF COURSE :

This is the first public Golf Course in India. There is a 250 yards, state of art driving range in the golf course & combined with the training facilities available this makes the Qutab golf course a haven for beginners.
With the commissioning of the 18 hole and with its ‘Pay & Play’ facility, the DDA has brought the game of Golf at the door steps of the general public, who so far, could not afford playing on the few and exclusive golf clubs in and around Delhi.

Jaipur

RAMBAGH GOLF COURSE :

The Rambagh Golf Club is a picturesque course strategically located. A game of golf here will transport you into the bygone days as you catch glimpses of the Rambagh Palace Hotel, The Moti Doongari and Nahargarh Forts and the Birla Planetarium. The origins of the Rambagh Golf Club date back to October 1944.
Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur is the founder and was the life-long captain of the club. After she returned from Gulmarg in October 1944 from a holiday where she got keen on playing golf, she requested the permission of the late king to lay a course on the Rambagh Palace grounds for which he readily agreed. With the help of seasoned golfers, an interesting course was laid out. The Fairways were rough and full of burrs that would stick to players’ shoes and socks, the browns were true and good. Soon, avid golfers from all over the world thronged to this majestic golf course, making it one of the favourites of many international players too.

AGRA GOLF COURSE :
